Backyard Fun

We have been enjoying the summer weather in our backyard!  It is fun to have the little pool in the yard and to be able to sit out on the deck in the evenings.  Mark has also developed a liking for cigar smoking after purchasing a wine, cheese, and cigar package at the last fundraising silent auction we attended.  Jen has a new bad habit of her own – graham crackers and frosting as a nightly treat.

New Swing Set

WOW – in a little over a year Mark and I went from living in a condo in downtown Denver to living in residential Des Moines with a swing set in the backyard.  Mark’s boss, Tina, offered us their swing set for the very generous price of FREE, as long as we moved it out of their yard!  With the help of lots of strong friends and family, Teag is now able to swing in his backyard!  Thanks so much to Tina and Dan and all those people who helped us move and set it up!

The adventures of having a house

Although we owned our condo in Denver, we are realizing that there is a lot more to owning a house than a condo.  This afternoon Jen was working to break the ice out of the front gutters by using boiling water, a screwdriver, a hammer, and a very wiggly ladder while Mark was ice picking the big piles of snow and ice at the end of the driveway.  Teag was inside taking a warm and cozy nap!
